Former President Donald Trump’s hush-money trial is set to begin in New York City on April 15, 2024. The case will begin with jury selection. Prosecutors and defense lawyers will be questioning potential jurors in an attempt to divine unspoken political biases, opinions about law enforcement and other hidden agendas. The potential jurors will likely be asked about their education, occupations, families and news sources. In this case, jurors will also be asked whether volunteered for or against Mr. Trump, and whether they attended political rallies for or against Mr. Trump. Many experts opine that prosecutors may be seeking jurors who are highly educated and get their news from MSNBC or the New York Times; while defense lawyers may be seeking jurors who are police officers, firefighters, or those who rely upon FOX News. From a large jury pool, 12 jurors and several alternates will be selected. The jury selection process could last several weeks.
