A federal grand jury in California has indicted Hunter Biden on tax charges alleging a scheme to evade paying federal taxes on millions of dollars of income from foreign businesses. The 56 page indictment charges the President’s son with: three counts of tax evasion, three counts of failure to file and pay federal taxes, and three counts of filing a false or fraudulent federal tax return. The Government claims that from 2016 until 2019, Mr. Biden engaged in a scheme to evade paying $ 1.4 million in federal taxes owed from income earned through foreign businesses. The charges are being prosecuted by special counsel to the Justice Department, and they carry a maximum possible prison term of 17 years, although such a long sentence is highly unlikely.
