The State of Arizona has indicted Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows and other Trump allies, accusing them with interfering with the 2020 presidential election. Also indicted were a number of fake electors who allegedly acted on behalf of Mr. Trump, to try to keep him in power, despite his election loss in the state. The criminal charges include conspiracy, fraud and forgery, all felony offenses under Arizona law. The indictment also references Mr. Trump as an unindicted co-conspirator. The indictment lays out a series of alleged efforts by the defendant’s to overturn Arizona’s election results. The defendants are accused of pressuring “officials responsible for certifying election the election results to encourage them to change the election results”, including the governor, the legislature and the Maricopa Board of Supervisors.
