Stewart Rhodes, founder of the Oath Keepers, was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison, for his conviction on seditious conspiracy charges. To date, this was the longest sentence imposed out of the 1000+ people charged in the Capitol attack that was intended to block Congress from certifying Democrat Joe Biden’s November 2020 election victory over Republican Donald Trump. Attorneys for Mr. Rhodes have pledged to appeal his conviction and sentence. In the meantime, Mr. Rhodes will be in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons for placement at an institution where he will serve his sentence.
